Visiting Your Home
We then carry out a meticulous series of measurements spanning every nook and cranny of your space; making sure no space is wasted. During our visit we’ll get to know your wants and needs better, drawing sketch ideas then and there to bring your vision to life. During your home visit we will spend a while getting to know you and how you and your family work within the kitchen space, we will go through your wishlist to give us a good idea of specific requirements needed or even those luxuries that are just wanted.
Our designers will listen to your needs and use their extensive knowledge and experience to advise on the right storage solutions, appliances and options for your space. It is always useful to our designers if budget is addressed within this first consultation, this way we can make sure that the design and products are suited to fit within this budget.
The Design Process
Once we have completed the site survey and built an idea of concept with the customer, we then take the time to produce a full design pack. This includes scaled plans, elevations, rendered images and a full quote to be able to show you on paper what potential your kitchen has. These images are made as realistic as possible using our specially tailored computer software. After all, to be able to show how we can design such a bespoke kitchen, we have to have a computer programme that gives us the flexibility to build the bespoke units. We take the time to plan your space so that the kitchen can be used in the most efficient way. Most people have heard of ‘The Kitchen Triangle’ which enables your food storage, food preparation and cooking area to be in a streamlined layout.
Your Design Consultation
We invite you to one of our showrooms 2 weeks after our initial consultation. This is where we present the design pack to you. We take the time to go through the proposed design with you to explain exactly what we have included and how it will fit perfectly within your family routine. Having our second consultation in the showroom is the perfect place to be able to show you examples of cabinetry, internal mechanisms, appliances, worktop samples and colour samples.
We welcome you to try out all of the hidden and clever storage solutions which make getting into those awkward spaces a lot more user friendly. This gives you a good feel for the quality and workmanship which goes into every piece of your kitchen.
You are also, very welcome to have a tour ‘behind the scenes’ in our Stratford workshop where you can see work in progress with cabinetry being prepared for fitting. At this point in the design process we can make any tweaks to the design that you may want to make. Our designers are on hand at any point to answer any queries you may have.
We understand that the fun part of the kitchen design process is the personalisation. We strongly believe that the small details, especially the handles are the jewellery to your kitchen. We are not signed into contracts with brands which only let us show their products. If you have a certain appliance in mind, our designers with their knowledge can show you alternative options.
This means that you can choose from plenty of different brands for appliances, worktops, handles and even paint colours making sure you get exactly the right product which will also fit within your budget. We all know how much paint colours can change depending on lighting and what they are married with, so providing worktop samples, colour samples and handles of which you can take home is always welcomed
We Will Liaise With Trade
Starting a kitchen project can be a daunting experience with the thought of having to manage so many different tradesmen. We can help take this stress off of you. You may have your own tradesmen for building works which we can liaise with to confirm specific locations for electric and water supplies etc. We can also liaise with them to work out time scales and order of works to ensure that all trades are working to the same time frames. We are also able to recommend tradesmen that we have regularly worked with on projects if you do not know of any.
