Grand Designs Live 2017
October has been a busy one for the team at Four Corners, we transformed a simple stand space at the Birmingham NEC, into a stunning display of our handcrafted kitchens.
Grand Designs Live, based on the hugely popular Channel 4 TV series hosted by Kevin McCloud, offered an immersive home experience like no other. Sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements, Grand Designs Live 2017 was brimming with over 900 unique exhibitors, all on hand to offer ideas and inspiration for visitors home projects, no matter how big or small.
Since the Grand Designs Birmingham show launch in 2005, the show has won numerous renowned industry awards and been hailed as ‘The UK’s most successful exhibition launch in the last decade’. Visitors to this year’s show had the unrivaled opportunity to explore the latest home innovations, upcoming trends and discover previously unseen products, from over 400 different exhibiting companies.
For Four Corners, Grand Designs Live provided an invaluable opportunity to showcase our latest handmade kitchen styles, the modern Linear range and the Industrial Ashworth kitchen.
A simple and streamlined style for a modern home, our Linear Kitchen features flat door and drawer fronts. Hand painted in a choice of Farrow & Ball colours or wood finished to our customer’s personal preference, our Linear range design also features framed wood cabinets and oak drawer boxes with intricate dovetail joints. Our Linear range features traditional cabinetry not only for strength and stability, but to also ensure that all kitchens are designed for living.
From the simple and streamlined to a reflection of the contemporary industrial trend, our Ashworth Kitchen is handmade in Ash, a sustainable hardwood. Featuring tongue and groove doors and drawers with an array of different handles to choose from, our customers are offered the flexibility to create a kitchen that they will love and live in for many decades to come.
The addition of floating shelves add open storage options, and when teamed with the latest stainless steel appliances and durable Dekton slate style worktop, our Ashworth range creates a stylish kitchen that means business.
From Sunday evening to Tuesday evening, before the show doors opened on Wednesday morning, our team worked tirelessly to build a stunning show stand. Led by our Project Director Jim Cherry, we were very proud of our excellent stand that stood out from the crowd and really showed off our team’s incredible skills and ability.
10am Wednesday morning marked the start of the show, the gates opened to eager visitors, all with projects in mind, show guides and pencils in hand. Over the course of the 5 days, we warmly welcomed more than 5000 visitors to our stand. Our in-house design team, led by Head Designer Olivia Lucas-Ulyat, gave out much appreciated advice and design ideas to help transform visitors dream homes into a reality.
When visitors to the stand were interested in how a Four Corners kitchen would look in their home, our design team were able to quickly sketch up these ideas and we provided these with a tailored quote for our customers to take away. Visitors to our stand said they were impressed by our personal approach to the design service, knowing that their ideas were being listened to and added to their dream home. From this attentive approach, we were able to successfully secure numerous design consultations, booked in customers homes for a time suitable to them.
Whilst at the show, we were impressed by a number of other stands, each showcasing exciting and innovative products. A favorite of these was the Bora Hobs stand, created by an ex jet engine engineer, these hobs extract the steam directly. We are a proud supplier of Bora Hobs, and these are available to view in our Broadway showroom.
Many visitors to the stand were expecting to just talk to us about kitchens. Instead they were surprised by how much more we are able to offer.
Sturdy and stylish kitchens aren’t the only thing that we can hand make. A practical and stylish range of fitted furniture is also able to be designed by our team, from fitted staircases to bookcases to TV units to bespoke hand made doors.
We only use sustainably sourced wood throughout, oak, pine or hand painted maple, we are able to offer a complete service to our customers, designing, crafting and fitting your chosen furniture. Every project undertaken by our design team is bespoke to the our customers needs. We love working around wonky walls and challenging angles all over the country, no project is too difficult and we love to help our customers make the most of their living space.
